Location: Chalkida, Euboea
Surface: 2650 s.m.
Supervision: 2008
Client: Ministry of Culture

The project involves restoration, addition and conversion study for the listed, industrial building of " Arethousa", in Chalkida. The building used to be a winery and is transformed into a museum, the exhibitions of which include findings of the archaeological sites of Euboea. The original structure is maintained, repaired and reinforced. The external and internal interventions aim to preserve the building's original identity.  At the same time, the new facilities required for the functions of the museum, are designed so as to create additional space without competing with the current building shell. The target of the project is to revive the former winery, through its integration into a modern building complex, designed in a way that creates links between past, present and future.
