The project refers to the conversion of the former silk factory in Metaxourgio into a multi - cultural activity centre. The building complex would accommodate a library - electronic information center, exhibition spaces, a multipurpose hall, rooms designed to host activities for children, and administrative offices. The restoration study includes a series of interventions so that the complex would be gradually brought back to its original form. The main principle of the interventions was the use of contemporary methods and materials so that they could be clearly distinguished from the old ones, and harmoniously integrated in the old structure.
