The existing reinforced concrete framed building was constructed in 1969. The preservation of the initial appearance was a major principle of the project. The building had suffered great corrosion due to the neighboring with the sea. The strengthening proposal includes construction of reinforced concrete jackets, along with special water resistance design, which will also contribute to the enhancement of the structure's behavior under earthquake loading.
