The project regards the construction design in two phases (initial structure and strengthening). In one direction the structural system consists of portal frames, simply supported girders and bracings are used in the other, while strip foundation is implemented. The steel structure has been designed for the loads prescribed per the codes provisions and the machines serviceability requirements. The strengthening proposal includes member replacements and the use of steel laminates.
