The current project refers to the structural adequacy and strengthening proposal of two existing steel structures (Pipe Racks). The structures already carry pipeline networks, as well as heavy machinery loads (air-cooler machines) on the top of the structures, many of which were placed after several interventions. For this reason, surveying studies were taken place in the field, during which the mechanical equipments, the fire protected elements and generally the geometries were investigated, for the proper simulation of the structures. From the structural assessment emerges the enhancement of the steel structure via extensive improvements, such as steel laminates and stiffening systems at both dimensions.
