T-776 tank is a cylindrical tank with a conical roof, symmetrical by its vertical axis and simply supported on the base with 47m internal diameter, 20m height and 35,000m3 total liquid storage. For the geometry simulation of the structure, i.e. the steel shell, the roof and the base, triangular and quadratic isoparametric plate finite elements have been used, which incorporate membrane and bending action and six degrees of freedom for each node. With the proper use of finite elements, regarding the liquid simulation, a parametric study for several liquid levels has been implemented.
